Abstract:Ceramics is an earliest artistic formation appeared in the history of human civilization, and this formation is the simplest and tersest among all the artistic categories, and at the same time, its mystery and abstraction are incomparable. The human’s perception and mastery of nature has taken a course of several hundred thousand years and even one million years. When the ceramic ware appeared, the people began to imitate the forms in the nature. From the water ripple pattern, fish pattern, bird pattern, etc. on the primitive pottery to the times in which the flowers of art of painted pottery were in full bloom, the people imitated not only the abstract pattern but also the animal shapes on the ceramic ware, and their power of expression in the spirit and symbolicalness was far beyond their practicality. The evolution of the decorative pattern on the utensils embodies the development of language of plastic arts. From the decoration to the shape of modern ceramic art in the later stage, all of them come from the nature and successfully combine the shape with the pattern decoration by the hyperbole and abstract simplification. The bionics comes into being in such coordination between the mankind and nature and obtains the acceptance of the people gradually. The bionic design is an interdisciplinary subject combining the bionics with the art design and also is the new direction and new achievement of human science development at the beginning of 21st century.Key Words:Ceramics; Water; The bionic design
